Ugandan music veteran Jose Chameleone (born Joseph Mayanja) returns with a soulful single called “Tete.” Chameleone, best known for his combination of Afrobeat, reggae, and dancehall, is still shaping the history of East African music while spreading his influence beyond boundaries.

Chameleone takes a new approach to Bongo Fleva with “Tete,” mixing Tanzanian rhythms with gorgeous vocals. The song expresses love, honesty, and contemplation, conveyed via his unique soulful voice that fans across Africa have adored for over 20 years.

Chameleone, who founded the Leone Island Music Empire, is still regarded as one of East Africa’s most respected artists. Since his breakout hit “Mama Mia” in 2000, he has affected generations, won prizes, toured the world, and established a legacy of storytelling via music.
