Lojay – Suru

Lojay’s song “Suru” is a track from his 2025 debut album, “XOXO“. The word “suru” is a Yoruba term that translates to “patience,” and the song serves as a reflective, soulful message about perseverance and trust in timing amidst life’s struggles. Over a mellow, Amapiano-influenced beat, Lojay uses his smooth, emotive vocals to confess the pressures and challenges he faces, assuring himself and listeners that despite the difficult exterior and lack of immediate progress (“E no dey show for face”), he is dedicated to the grind and knows his efforts will eventually pay off.

The Afrobeats track was produced by Elementz and AOD, with Lojay himself contributing to the production. The combination of the deep, rolling Amapiano bassline with R&B/Afrobeats elements creates a hypnotic and introspective mood that perfectly underscores the song’s theme. “Suru” acts as a sonic moment of peace and self-affirmation within the album’s larger narrative of emotional complexity, encouraging listeners to embrace the virtue of patience while relentlessly pursuing their goals.
